I cannot believe that we are almost in to the 3rd trimester already!!! It's going by so fast! I believe second trimester comes to an end Dec. 9th.
We've been prepparing so many things; rooms, crib, baby proofing, registries etc. I'm thrilled to say that while shopping this week for Christmas gifts I snagged a rocker/automun (sp?) set for only $150! Normally, they're $300. Anthony'll have to put it together soon :)
I feel like Im getting a bit bigger every day. I'm not too big for 25 weeks to begin with, and I don't see where the 19lbs. I've put on have gone...ok, maybe in the tush area...but still. I'm not a horrible eater (lots of fruits, veggies and protien) so I'm not worried.
Baby is very active. She's actually not too bad at night so I'm managing a decent nights sleep most nights. She's so much fun! When relaxing, sometimes when she kicks I'll place my hands on that spot and gently put some pressure back...then she'll kick back again. It's fun to play with the little one who isn't even in my arms yet.
So far, still been feeling good. I've been getting more tired over the last week...and I'm guessing that's about normal. Thanks to my fabulous chiropractors I'm not dealing with too much pain anymore. As long as I remember to get adjusted that is! The only pain that is rather annoying is the pain that occurs when I lay on my left hip...if I sleep on that side too long it's awful, and will make my leg go numb eventually.
I'm thankful for all the love and suppot we've been given from our family and friends! You're all wonderful! Well, off to get ready for church. Have a blessed day.

23 Weeks!

Well, I'm officially past the 1/2 way point and moving full speed ahead towards 'motherhood'. It's kinda scary to think that in 17 weeks, we'll be holding our little one...17 weeks! EEEK! So much to do and not a lot of time to do it in. When I was talking to Lisa the other day I had to make the comparison of "It's like when you're planning your wedding and you get down to counting weeks, not months, and then...you start to panic." :)
Things are going really smooth. I feel so lucky to have an "easy" pregnancy. Not too much pain/swelling/sickness etc. Just a few little things here and there. I've learned that it's important to wear my orthotics with the small weight gain, really helps the feet/hips when being out and about. I've also learned that a body pillow is a pregnant woman's best friend for sleeping! Yes, it may take up half the bed and make the hubby uncomfortable, but it's so worth it for the relief/ease of sleep for the pregnant one :).
Baby's doing very well. At our last visit she was perfect size and weight, moving around a lot and all her measurements of organs and such looked normal too. She's moving around... A LOT. It's not constant obviously, but when she does move around she likes to make her presence known. Most often I can actually see my belly move when she's kicking, that is awesome.
I'm looking forward to all the other pregnancy "mile markers" that are yet to come but for right now I'm just enjoying time to sit back with my feet up and feel little one move around. Found out she likes spinach pizza and as much as I love hot/spicy foods...she's not the biggest fan. Yet ;)
We've started to think of names, get the nursery ready and preparing for her arrival. I've started baby registries at Target and Babies R Us to prepare for baby shower...and so I remember what I've picked out. The mind seems to be a bit foggy now adays.
Oh, don't think I uploaded the latest ultrasound pictures but you can see them here...
http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=2022606&id=62800394&l=86b3f42bd1 if you'd like. This album has all the pics so far. :)
Hugs for now!

It's a girl!
Went to the OB for our 20/21 week ultrasound today and the tech told us she's 90% sure that we're having a little girl! Baby was being difficult and didn't want to move around for us to get a good view but after a few minutes of movement/looking around tech said based on what she sees it's safe to assume it's a girl. :) We'll have other other ultrasounds of course and they can confirm it again but it's cool to know. Of course, kinda figured it was!
I'll scan in the ultrasound pictures tomorrow at work and upload them, we got a really cool "foot print" picture :)
Until then, baby's growing well and all the measurements look great!

How cool!
Recent news, short and sweet...
Baby actually "kicked" last night! It was the first definitive one that almost made me jump. A lot stronger than just the movements :).
As I rolled from my side to my back to stretch last night I felt baby move so I placed my hands on the belly and felt him/her shift from my left side over...it was amazing! I'm not positive but Im pretty sure I was able to feel the head...a nice hard spot moving compared to the squishy areas around it :).
Sigh, pregnancy is awesome.

20 Weeks, officially halfway there!
Part of me can't believe that 1/2 of the pregnancy is already gone! It went so fast...and Im sure with the holidays being mixed in the last 1/2, this will go even faster! :( Im realy enjoying this whole pregnancy thing!
Not much exciting other than I started our first registry this week! I got off work early so I stopped at Babies 'r' Us and got started. There's nothing on it yet, but they gave me all sorts of suggestions, a 'newborn checklist', and coupons! Anthony was working when I went, we'll have to go back and have fun with the scanner ;).
Also, funny story...I was laying on my side culred up next to Anthony this evening when out of nowhere he says "your starting to look pregnant." Just like that, it was so random and funny. It was nice to hear from him as he knows my self coinciousness (sp?) issues. Sigh, good end to a good night.
I'm calling it an evening before I start a new book. Since Sunday I've finished two novels...one of them not so small! I'm afraid of I don't go to bed now I'll start my next one and never get to bed!
Guess that's my cue, night!

Movements
I've come to the conclusion that feeling baby move is one of the most amazing, awe inspiring blessings of being a woman.
I stayed home from work today because I still had a fever and my cough wasn't much better...so I spent the say sleeping, reading and not doing much else. Throughout reading and changing positions I'd feel the unmistakable flutters of our little one. Each time I would just stop and wait for another one! The anticipation of waiting to feel the glorious gift we've been given move inside me!
Since I've slept a lot today sleeping tonight has proved difficult not only due to lack of sleepiness but also because I've been laying on my one side most of the day and I'm in a little bit of pain. I can't wait to get adjusted tomorrow!
Well, that's all! I'm just sitting here waiting for sleep to take me into it's arms and enjoying every little flutter from baby that tonight brings. I have a feeling, based on a few of the more forceful movements I've felt today, it won't be long before Anthony will be able to feel baby move! But for now I say goodnight!
Sweet dreams my little one.

19 weeks, 20 Wednesday
Well, it's official, I feel crappy today! The 19 week mark has come and almost gone rather quick, and in that time frame I managed to pick up a virus or something that knocked me down today. I've got a cough, lungs sound a bit "full" and Im wiped! Good news was I got pizza for dinner b/c I don't feel good. Although, truth be told, pizza is my latest craving and I could eat it morning, noon, and night!
Baby has been moving around a lot, well I suppose he or she always was but now I can feel more of the activity! I'm not really able to distinguish turns from kicks or anything, they all feel like bubbles...little "bloops". And, as is normal I suspect, I feel the most of them after eating. So looking forward to kicks Anthony can feel!
I went on a church retreat this weekend at First Pres church and had an amazing time with some fabulous women. Had some time for spiritual refreshment and did a prayer labyrinth (coolest thing!). At the weekend I can't count how many times I heard "you don't look 4 1/2 months pregnant!". Yep, that's me, don't look it yet and will probably wake up one day soon with a belly...baby must still be cozy in there and hasn't decided (s)he needs more room.
Anthony and Nate did a lot of moving and rearranging for me this weekend...and the best part???? They picked up the babies crib from Anthonys grandma! She was sweet enough to give us the one she had at her apartment and that his cousins out grew. It's gorgeous cherry wood, once put together I'll post pictures. Our room also got a makeover so Ill be closest to babies bassenet and room. I'm liking this!
It's so helpful having all the stuff moved, and arranged. I'm painting Thursday! Now that I don't have a bunch of stuff in my way I can break out the paint!!! I'll def. get before and after pictures. I'm so grateful for all that's getting done, it's stuff checked off my list and less I have to stress about. Let's face it, I keep a calm exterior but I stress!
Well, I have to get some more sleep, I want to make it into work tomorrow. Dr. Oki had a lot going on this weekend and Im looking forward to hearing about it. Oh, two weeks and a day from tomorrow we find out baby's sex, should be fun!! I'm anxious and SOOOOOOO excited!
We Love you baby Barna! Goodnight!

18 weeks and counting!
It's been a very baby filled week on many levels this first week of October! I had two people I know give birth, Anthony got all the heavy stuff moved for me so I can start painting Saturday and we've a slew of things to work on!
Mom had been bugging me to get her a baby shower guest list so I obliged and realized I know way to many people! It'll be big, but it'll be fun :).
We're working on starting to baby proof (move cords, get electrical outlets covered and plugged, etc.). As well as a bazillion other things...
- Finding a pediatrician
- Planning what we'll have to buy over what we're getting from family/friends
- Attend tours of the hospital, take our Bradley class and take a breastfeeding class
- Looking up groups for resourses after birth (La Leche Leauge, etc.)
- Preparing for the birth and writing out a birth plan
- Figuring out what we can make/buy for food right before baby gets here so we don't have to eat out every night
- Thinking of the after birth situation. To work or not to work? Babysitters? Hm.
It's been a rollercoaster of things to figure out. But is all worth it for the excitement of little one.
Oh and it's official, as much as I didn't want to find out if we're having a boy or girl...I have to know! We discussed it and we'll be finding out on the 27th, my next ultrasound appt! Sooooo excited! 90% of everyone I talk to thinks I'm having a girl (even though not really much of a "bump" to judge by), and the other select few believe otherwise...it'll be fun
to find out!
We've started tossing names around and have only been able to agree on girls names. With boys names I like the more unusual and creative names (Ryder, Kaleb, Caden, etc.), and he's more traditional (Thomas, Benjamin, etc.). I think if it was up to him, if it's a boy he'd name it Thomas Jefferson Barna... ;).
Oh, and I'm feeling a little "quickening" this week. I'm looking forward to those little movements to become more pronounced so not only can I really tell and begin to count kicks but so Anthony can feel them as well.
I learned that baby begins to hear this week as the inner ear is forming and hardening. I'm excited to know baby will finally be able to hear all those conversations Ive been having with it! It's all so much fun!!!
I'm not, however, enjoying the headaches, constant stuffy/runny nose, ocassional bloody noses, and random coughs that come and go. Feel like I have a permanent head cold...which Im told is pretty normal. Gotta stock up on Kleenex! ;)
Well, time to get moving! I'm off to the bank, Goodwill, grocery store, dentist and then dinner with Joy! It'll be good to see her as we haven't gotten together since Labor Day. We're planning a girls weekend getaway Ina few weeks and need to figure out where we're going! It'll be fun.
Take care, God Bless!

Ugh, migraine please go away
Well, we had a good weekend. Didn't do too much but did enough. Got to hang out with family at Kaitlyn and Kyle's birthday party, visit an apple orchard with mom and watched the Packer's game with Anthony and his folks.
I ended up sleeping most of Sunday...through most of the Packer's game and then was in bed early with a migraine. I was dissapointed, I'd read a few places that often women who suffered from migraines before pregnancy don't get them during it. Apparently I'm not one of those lucky few. Well, guess i'll take migraines over throwing up any day!
Made it into work and got some marketing done then had to go home. Thankfully, my chiro adjusted me but my mid cervical is stuck...which is very unlike me. Normally Im super easy to adjust.
I have my 4 month OBGYN appointment this Thursday and I'm excited to hear baby barna's heartbeat again! It's getting to the point where I should start feeling definitive kicks and movement soon...the little one's I have felt though are so cool!
We will be able to find out if baby's a boy or a girl in a few weeks. I really didn't want to know when we first got pregnant but the farther along and with movement now and then it's all becoming so much more real and I really want to find out! We shall see though.
Dear baby Barna, your dad and I are excited to feel you moving around and to see you on the ultrasound in a few weeks! We love you and can't wait to meet you! Love, mom and dad :)

16 weeks, freakout
Well, here we are another week closer to baby's arrival and what happens? Laura works herself into a frenzy last evening not only over every piddly detail about pregnancy (getting bigger, redefining myself as someone's mom, baby's health, eating habits, pain/issues, preping the house...etc), but also about how quickly the next 5 months are going to go and all the changes ahead (actually being a parent, to work or not to work, finances, being a mom...being responsible for this bundle of joy, etc.). Sigh.
What brought this on? I can only imagine hormones; after all I threw my own temper tantrum at not being able to find my tweezers and then almost started balling when I ran out of floss. All in a few minutes time.
Thank God for Anthony! I'm not sure what Id have done without him last night!
It was then time for bed and sleeping has proven to be an interesting task. I'm having issues with my low back/hips and there's not a whole that can be done about it. Just need to manage it. I'm getting adjusted again tomorrow. Thank goodness for small favors.
Well, other than that there has been some exciting news, I'm pretty sure I've felt baby's first movements! They've been random, quick and light flutterings...but I cannot rationalize them as anything else. :)
Time to head off, either time to sleep or time to get ready for work, we'll see which happens 1st this morning ;)

15 weeks tomorrow!
Well, it's been an exciting few weeks (mostly not baby related ;) ). Aside from having to get a new washer and dryer unit we've been trying to get the 2nd bedroom all cleaned out and painted. It'll get there and I'm looking forward to getting in painted.
I sucked it up this past Sunday and finally bought my 1st pair of maternity pants and a bellyband. The bellyband is fabulous! It allows me to keep using my pre-pregnancy pants for a while before I grow a bit more. Aside from the random heartburn that's popping up now and then I'm still feeling good. Sleepiness and nausea has past for the most part and now I'm just enjoying prep :).
Mom and I went out for lunch Sunday and then went to Target to get the bellyband and pants. It was nice to have time with her this weekend considering I've been down here all week w/ Pam. Laundry to do...thankfully we get our new washer/dryer delivered tomorrow!!!
I'm getting very excited about the next ultrasound (at 19 weeks). It's the coolest thing in the world to see baby barna moving around :). We've talked about not wanting to find out the sex of the baby but I'm so anxious I may have to bug Anthony to let us...it's just so exciting! Sigh.
Today Pam and I went to Woodfield (she took a day off work) and we had loads of fun just walking around, window shopping and eating all sorts of good food. We bought way too much Godiva and I bought a pair of prego jeans...they are so comfortable! 'Bout time!!! I'm enjoying the new found comfort of pregnancy pants. I'll probably have to buy a few more pairs in a few months but that'll be ok w/ me. We walked through a few baby clothing stores and saw the cutest stuff! Then we had Maggiano's for lunch, baby liked that! :)
I've been eating more beef lately b/c, well, it's just sounded/tasted so good for the last month or so...but yesterday I made a correlation to the heartburn and the beef. Must be all those years I spent not eating it and then all of a sudden eating it like every other day. So, I've done an experiment over the last few days, and about 30 mins after beef...heartburn begins. Oh well, baby's gonna have to do w/out it.
Well, tomorrow's going to be a good day, the husband comes home from Wisconsin tomorrow afternoon! I'm looking forward to see him after work! Off to relax the rest of the night and enjoy my new tea from Tevana...it's White Ayurvedic Chai, and it's FABULOUS!
Ciao for now!!!

13 weeks today!
Sooooooooo excited, for the last two days I haven't been overly sleepy. Wahooooooo!!! I'm ecstatic that my sleep patterns over the last week have normalized a bit to what I was used to and that I haven't needed to sleep every waking hour ;). I've gotten so acustomed to taking a nap on lunch and when I get home from work over the last 8 weeks that I don't know what to do with myself when I'm awake during those times. No, really, I'm sure I'll find housework or something to do.
Anyways, I have my monthly doctors appointment tomorrow and I'm sure that'll be nothing terribly exciting. Just a check up to make sure all is well in baby land! I've weanned myself off the B6 vitamins that they wanted me to take b/c a) I hate taking vitamins/medications to begin with, b) I think they helped me just long enough, c) w/out them I've been fine as long as I drink my water. The big problem was feeling nauseous when I drank water and that has subsided.
In other exciting news, Pam bought us the cutest 5 piece clothing set for newborns. I'll have to take a picture and post it on here tonight. After getting home at 10 last night I didn't feel like doing that :). It's currently hanging up in our closet b/c we're still working on getting the second room cleaned out. I'm going to get it painted this month...I have to. October is quickly filling up and then before we know it holiday's will be here and then next thing I know it'll be time for baby to arrive. It seems that the pregnancy itself is going slow while time itself just keeps on chugging along fast as ever. On a totally un-pregnancy related note, does it surprise anyone else how fast this year is going by???
Well, I'll be off to finish working the afternoon then home to get some things done. Today is my Friday seeing as I have off Friday :). It'll be nice to have the day to do laundry at the in-laws seeing as our dryer went out and it looks like we, in fact, will have to replace it. Sigh. Oh well, better now than after baby I guess! Off to the wonderful world of work.

Update!
So, after a nice long chat w/ the Dr. I was told that I need more B6 vitamins and I'm not drinking enough water. Fabulous...more trips to the bathroom :).
Anywho, it seems that the B6 will help w/ the nausea against water (drinking large quantities of water is a no go for me anymore) and will help alleviate the random fatigue that hit on Thursday. I had started to feel better in that respect earlier last week and then BAM it hit with full force later Thursday afternoon. I took a 4 hr nap that afternoon and then slept for over 13hrs that night...it was crazy.
Anyways, some dizziness I know is to be expected with all the changes going on but this just scared me a little because of how often and how bad it was. So, I was instructed to go home, eat a nice iron/protien rich meal, take 1/2 a B6 vitamin tablet (other 1/2 in am), and drink MORE water! I think I can handle that.
Thank you Lord for easy fixes!!!

Almost out of the 1st trimester.
It's very difficult to believe that I'm almost out of the 1st trimester already (just a week or so left). I'm looking forward to regaining a bit more of my energy and for most of the nausea to subside. However, I've been blessed with mostly fabulous health the last three months! The exhaustion had started to subside and is now, for some reason, picking back up again.
This weekend was pretty relaxing, we didn't do a whole lot on Saturday. Sunday we had lunch w/ Grandpa and Coleen, walked around a nursery then picked up paint for the second bedroom! I am so excited!!!! Not because I like to paint, but because it will be another room that's painted in the house...and it'll be baby's room.
However, I've been battling some dizziness/almost fainting issues between Sunday/today. Yesterday I went to a local church because I didn't want to be rushing back from Aurora to pick up Anthony for lunch out here...and I spent pretty much the whole service seated. I would stand for a minute or so and get so light headed/clammy feeling I knew if I didn't sit down I was going to pass out. Sigh, probably corresponding my temp has been between 97.4 - 97.8 over the past two days. No fun! I called the OB today and they want me to come in to run a few tests (blood pressure, sugar and probably Iron counts). Lovely.
I was supposed to work this afternoon but the dr. couldn't get me in until 2ish...around the time I'm supposed to be at work. So, I had to call Carol to see if she could cover for me. :( I was looking forward to getting out of the house and working for a little bit!
Well, as much as I don't want to I must clean Pig's cage...she's beginning to smell pretty bad. Thankfully there is a place to sit if needed when doing it! Off to clean her, then clean myself and then dr.'s appointment. Will keep everyone updated!

11 weeks
Well, things are certainly progressing. As I get closer to the 12 week mark I've noticed that nausea and exhaustion are almost gone, thank God for small favors! However, I think I'm fighting a bit of something off. Nothing major, just enough to present as a low grade fever and make me feel exhausted. Seems to be getting better today...no fever! And I was able to make it into work. :)
This past Friday Joy and I stopped at Kohl's, since we had time to kill before our movie, and I found two of the most adorable maternity tops! (and of course neither of them are online so I can't show you...guess I'll just have to take pictures!) Thanks to a 15% off coupon and a gift card the two of them only cost me $7! Now that's a steal!!!
On Saturday I saw Lisa and she gave me quite a few things from her maternity selection as well. I was uber excited because that included three dresses! I'm going to purchase some leggings and black flats to wear with two of them and the other is just too light and cute not to wear this year before it gets chilly.
Speaking of chilly I'm looking forward to cooler weather! I know, I know...don't rush winter and the snow! But quite frankly, this summer was so mild that it never really felt like summer arrived and well, fall will be a welcome season in this household! I'm planning to get away for a girls weekend in the next month or so before baby starts growing too much, before snow and before we have to start really working on more house stuff. Maybe the weekend I'm gone Anthony can get the men up for heavy lifting, rearranging and painting. That would be fabulous. We've already started, just a lot to do. Thankfully, my wonderful husband put up the second half of our closet Friday while I was gone! It was such a wonderful surprise to come home to!!! I love you baby!
In other baby news I've looked around and will have to go shopping for pair of work pants and jeans...soon. I feel like I've put on about 10 lbs but according to the scale I've only put on 2 extra. There are a few resale shops in the area I'm going to hit up first then go from there. It seems like such a waste to purchase a lot of brand new clothing when there are moms out there who're dying to get rid of theirs! This http://www.clothesmentor.com/NewV2/Clothes_Mentor/Home.html looks like an awesome place and I'll be trying them out soon. Well, I think that's about it for now. It's been a long week so far and I'm glad that it's almost the weekend. We have nothing planned Saturday and then Sunday we get to see Grandpa and Coleen for lunch! It'll be nice to just veg.
Ta ta for now!

10 Weeks!
Yeah! This has been an exciting week! Anthony and I spent quite a bit of effort cleaning out our 2nd bedroom, purging has begun. Guess you never realize how much junk you accumulate until you are forced to go through it ;). We've started talking about colors for the baby's room too.
We both really like this one ... http://coochicoos.com/nursery-design/nursery_design_calm_and_peacef.html because of how calm it looks.
However, I also like a modified version of this one too :)
http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_L-deInbQA9c/SkRuBPftkZI/AAAAAAAACMY/QkWeAMu_MGo/s640/modern-nursery-ideas.jpg.
We went to Menards to pick out some samples yesterday. How exciting.
We also went to see the OB for our first ultrasound yesterday and got to see baby kicking around and hear the heartbeat. What an amazing thing! Technology is wonderful. Being pregnant feels a whole lot more real now. The fact that you can actually see the little one moving around inside...just so cool. I'll post the ultrasound pictures below for y'all.
Other than that pregnancy is going well. I've started to get the little 'pooch' in the lower abdomen that I can't suck in and I've put on a little bit of weight. The combination of which has now forced me to start using rubber bands as needed on pants for 'extension'. Within the next few weeks I'm going to need a shopping run for work pants and probably a new pair of jeans. However, aunt Lisa has a few dresses/tops and a pair of jeans that may fit from her pregnancy. I'll be seeing them on Saturday and will get to try them on. I'm very excited about hand me downs! Not only maternity clothing but also with furniture/baby stuff too. The less we have to purchase the better!!!
Well, guess that's about all for now. Need to take off from work soon to make a Fruitful Yield run. Took my last prenatal vitamin this morning and need more for lunch!
Thank you all for the warm wishes via phone or facebook! We love all of you and can't be more excited to have you involved in this exciting time for us! Love ya!!!

Today's visit
Whew, today went fantastic at the doctors!!! They were so much nicer, the ladies were all so friendly and they gave me this packet of papers and a cute little weekly calendar with 3D images for each week :). What a difference an office can make.
Well, I'm officially 9 weeks, 1 day. Apparently I've been calculating a day off :). She attempted to find the heartbeat with a hand held doppler (even though I'm only 9 weeks and not in the classification as "tiny"). She was too cute, she said to me "normally I don't even try this till about 10 weeks but you're pretty skinny so we'll give it a shot!" Talk about making my day by calling me skinny :). However, no luck...she thought she had it then poof.
Anywho, I get to go back a week from today for an actual ultrasound to see the heartbeat and to verify due date. So excited. I've a genetic thingy (you'd think that some doctor along the way would have told me before now?) that they'll need to monitor as I progress but should have no problems. Just need to keep an eye out for pre-term labor towards the end is all.
Hopefully all 4 freaking vials of blood they drew were well worth it and turn up well b/c my arm has never hurt as bad from having blood drawn as it does today. Sigh, after a long day of driving around to get things done and ending w/ the OB appointment I'm pooped. Gonna finish some laundry and pack a bag for this weekend at the in-laws. Then time for a little relaxation!

Relief!
Yaaaaaay, my old OB still works in Naperville and they're open to what I'm looking for! WAHOO! After many phone calls between too many doctors offices/hospitals I think we're set for right now. At least there is a foundation being laid that we're comfortable with. I have an appointment with them tomorrow @ 3:15 and they're going to do all the stuff that the doctor I saw yesterday didn't. They were shocked when I told them what he pulled. Sigh, at least I'm not the only one! The only thing he did do was tell me my due date is around March 10, 2010. :)
We're telling everyone that were expecting today. I already talked to Grandpa and I'm waiting for Anthony's grandma to call me back...then it's fair game :). We were going to wait till this weekend but with tomorrow being 9 weeks (and 9 weeks being the new 12 weeks :) ) guess now is as good as ever. Besides, it's too much fun to chat about it and prepare with all the people who are important to us!
Thank you to all who have supported me over the last week when I was sick. It meant so much to me. Still feeling great! Had Dr. Oki run a CRA test on me and all systems are a go/back to normal! Yay for no more toxic stomach!!!!
Tomorrow is 9 weeks...go us!

Going to the doctor today!
Sigh, I can't believe that I'm almost 9 weeks pregnant (Thursday :) ) and going to see the (new) OBGYN today! I'm hesitant about the whole new dr. thing and I'm nervous just in general. {{{{Big breath in}}}}.
I was looking forward to writing a nice long post last week but ended up getting horribly sick! So here's all that happened...8 weeks passed, I had food poisoning and was miserable for 4 days, then I got better ;). I lead a very exciting life, what can I say!
Anywho, I should go get ready for the Dr., I've been cleaning/cooking most of the day. Will update later!
------------------
Update: This new OBGYN office stunk. They forgot to mail me paperwork to tell me how to arrive (IE w/ full bladder, so no ultrasound or anything), they were running way late, and I ended up spending more time waiting for the doctor than I did seeing/talking to him. He didn't do a dang thing and hardly talked to me. Not that I want to be hand fed everything, but, if I hadn't done my research and was completly in the dark I would still not know what to expect! I was so frustrated/ticked when I left. On top of all that, when I asked about natural birth, the RN's looked at me like I was carrying the plauge. Sigh, I was so frustrated/ticked when I left. Guess we're not sticking w/ these guys...time to call the old OB and deal w/ the 45 min drive to and from. At least they know me, I like them and the hospital they're affiliated w/ has multiple birth options.
On a positive note, we had free dinner @ Bartlett's National Night Out and went grocery shopping where I bought stuff to make Guacamole! MMMMMMM it was sooooooo good. Well, this lady's had about enough for today and my foot hurts, bed time!

One week to go!
One week from today is our first prenatal visit. I'm soooooooooo excited to get our first glimpse at baby Barna. I'm not having a great morning, nausea is my companion this morning and I'm just so warm w/ this humidity. I think I may have to break down and turn the air on as that may help me feel a bit better. I have Bible study tonight and I'm hoping that I can make it through the few errands, visit to a friend and still have the energy/gumption to go tonight. I haven't seen the Bible study gals in over a week and I really miss them. Well, off to get ready for the day, a lot to do!

Challenges are only the beginning.
As this week has been a mental, emotional and physical roller coaster....it's easing up through today. I have been torturing myself with questions....
- will the baby be healthy?
- will Anthony and I be able to get everything done?
- will we be good parents?
- how will delivery go? (sigh, that's a huge on in my mind!)
- when will my interest in exercise/eating return (which I know is a few weeks ;) )
- are we really ready for this?
... so excited, yet so anxious.
I've been attempting to figure out if the OBGYN's in the area refer to midwifes....b/c we really want a natural childbirth. I'm talking no IV's, no drugs, walking around during labor, possibly a water birth and NOT on my back with my legs in the air.
I spent some time on my knees today bringing it all before the Lord, knowing that He will guide Anthony and I through it all. After all, He is God of all :). I also spoke to Anthony about some of the things on my mind and he understood, reassured and provided some thought provoking insights.
Thankfully, I've been feeling better intermittently. Most days I can eat whatever I'd like with little to no stomach issues...the bad days are just days where I'm a tiny nauseous. I've made a strange correlation between heat/nausea and I can't eat lettuce by itself. That one struck me as super odd but whatever!

Ugh...
Well, it's official....nausea has set in and taken some root. I'm suck between a rock and a hard place where all I want to do is eat b/c I'm physically hungry but the thought of food makes me queasy. I'm feeling lucky because there is no vomiting! I'm also feeling lucky because nausea is not a constant companion, it comes and goes with predictability throughout the days. My diet this week has blown thanks to this...but at least I've kept it all down :).
Anthony and I goofed around with baby names tonight, and Anthony teased me about already telling "the whole world" :) Sigh...it's just so exciting, and so hard to keep a secret. I'm looking forward to seeing ultrasound/hearing baby's heartbeat in two weeks!
After thinking 'bout all the family and honorary "aunts" that our little one is going to have I can't help but be overwhelmed by all the love that will be in baby Barna's life! I've had sessions with Mom and CRA checks with Dr. Oki this week and we're all balanced and healthy, go us!
Well, after a lazy day with Anthony and lots of sleep it's time to hit the hay, again. I think I'll delve into my new pregnancy book for a bit first. It was recommended by my Bartlett chiro and I'm enjoying it so far. So much to learn/know!

Can't wait!
We scheduled our first OBGYN appointment today! Anthony will be joining me on August 4th, 4pm for tests, check up and 1st ultrasound! That's exactly three weeks from today! How very exciting. I'm almost to week 6 (Thursday) and by the dr. appt I'll be between week 8/9. We'll tell the remaining family/friends after that appointment...probably that Sunday/Monday b/c we'll be seeing a bunch of them on Saturday and it'll be easy to finish the phone calls then! For now, resting!

Back to work :(
Don't get me wrong, I love my job....but for the next few weeks I've decided I'm gonna need naps during lunch. I've been spoiled so far and been able to sleep whenever I'd like, not so much in the real world. 6a-7p is a long day right now. I also started over obsessing about every bite of food that went into my mouth today...need to nip that in the butt! Just need to remember balanced and healthy is the way to go.
Nausea started to kick in a bit on the way home today, I was getting hungry and didn't have anything to eat with me. Apparently an empty, rumbling tummy will cause some nausea. Fabulous. Note to self: keep food on hand 24/7.
Note to baby Barna: we're looking forward to helping/watching you grow and getting to know you!
Time for dinner, then bed!

We're home!
It is so nice to be home from vacation...in our bed, close to family/friends and back to 'normal'. I'm looking forward to getting back to eating normal food...not eating out/grilling every day. I'm pretty sleepy today even though I did sleep most of the drive home. No 'morning sickness' yet! Wahoo, maybe I'll get lucky ;). Again, it's still early too. Anthony and I spent some time this evening discussing all the changes yet to come and thankfully we're on the same page for the majority of preparations/needs for a little one. That helped relieve a lot of my anxieties. He's going to be such a good dad! Time to call it a night and spend a few days preping for back to 'normal life' and work Monday.

Let the fun begin.
I slept pretty much all day today....and it was fabulous. I hadn't realized that my tummy has been upset the last few days till today, when it calmed down. Nothing major, just enough to notice a slight difference. But feeling better after resting.
I'm feeling anxious about all the preparations for having a little one...9 months isn't that much time! And there is so much to do. Yet, to cover it all is this underlying peace and calm too. :) I know that God has blessed us with this little one and He will provide us with all his/her needs. Speaking of his/her...we've decided that we're going to let the gender be a surprise. You get so few real surprises in life, why not! We can't wait!!!

Too cute!
Pam and Tom picked up the cutest Green Bay Packers onesie today...can you tell Pam's excited to be a grandma?
Feeling pretty good, just a little tired. Haven't been able to sleep in much on vacation thanks to my "internal alarm" ... could also be the excitement too I guess :). Looking forward to the week of 8/9 when we'll get to see our 1st glimpse of baby Barna...and to tell the rest of our family/friends!

It's official!
We received the official "yes" for the doctor's office today! We are officially pregnant!!! :)
All of our parents/siblings/friends are so excited with us and that makes us even more excited! That's a lot of excitement!
Today was spent reading & relaxing...just taking it all in and enjoying every moment of vacation and being pregnant! Yes, yes it is super early, but it's just such a miraculous thing and I can't help but be in awe. I'm very thankful for Anthony and the love/support he's shown in just the last few days. Baby Barna, you'll be well looked after by two loving parents! Stay safe in there!!!!

Guess what....
Today was very exciting! After having an inkling that something was different recently (along with some very prominent 'symptoms') I had to think..."I'm pregnant."
Now, we're headed for Wisconsin in two days (leave Sat am) and I couldn't 'not know' before we left! Well, coincidentally enough my mother-in-law had JUST given me a batch of coupons and there was a home pregnancy test coupon in the mix. So, I headed to CVS and picked one up!
An hour later, there I was, greeted by a little blue plus sign! I was home alone, so I did a little dance and of course teared up with tears of joy and excitement. It hit me how cool to think that a little one is growing inside of me! Hello little one!
I told Anthony and he seemed excited too! We just chatted for a while and then I had to go to the dr to have blood work drawn to confirm :). Unfortunately, with the way the holiday falls...I won't get the results till Monday! We told our parents, siblings and just a few of my girlfriends so I have someone to be girly and goofy with when I need girly moments! Everyone else can wait a few weeks :). Sorry everyone else!
I had to run errands near the library so I picked up "The Pregnancy Bible" and will take it on vacation with us.
I'm so thankful that God has blessed us with this little one...just need the official word from the doctor and we can officially start celebrating. There is soooooooo much to learn, so much to do, and so many things to prepare for. I've been praying that God would bless us in His timing and He sure did.

Sigh, we will have a great vacation with Anthony's parents knowing that next March sometime a little one will be in the picture and next years vacation will be a little bit different. :) I'm feeling elated, anxious, so grateful/thankful and loving my life. Hard to believe that after 2 yrs, 6mths and 10 days of being married, we have a little one on the way!
Lord, please watch over the very little baby Barna, Anthony and I. Thank you for your faithfulness and greatness!
